I hope you’re having a magical holiday season! We have lots of great news to share, most importantly that we have finalized our camp dates for 2016.
I want to take a moment to thank each of you who shared with me your honest feedback over the past year. We’ve had to make some tough decisions this fall, taking into consideration what’s monetarily possible, as well as how much I can take on without sacrificing my health, sanity and family. We are going to skip a year for our Vancouver & Waldorf camps. As hard as it was to come to this conclusion, I know that I will be able to offer an improved experience for the camps we are hosting. I am thankful to be in a position to make sound business decisions and prioritize my family at the same time.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to do so. I am looking forward to a GREAT year, and can’t wait to dance through it with all of you!

These intensives are for students and teachers to train in many aspects of ballet. They include 7 days of classes, technique level from beginning to advanced as well as pas de deux, pointe, men’s class, workshops, and much more.
Classes are held in the charming, spacious studios of Virginia Commonwealth University and the vibe is urban. With lively neighborhoods and a thriving restaurant scene, Richmond is a wonderful place to experience.

We are offering a Level 1- Beginning program designed to explore the fundamentals in depth, such as turn out, carriage of the arms, positions of the body, class etiquette, and point preparedness. This workshop is both a physical and intellectual approach to understanding ballet technique in depth. We utilize the concepts and philosophy of Elemental Body Alignment System (EBAS) to demonstrate how and why technique works. We will analyze relevant structures and systems of the body, discuss innovative teaching principles, and apply them in daily class. Learn to release energy blocks, reduce tension, increase balance, maximize mobility, and minimize injury.

- Morning classes include EBAS, ballet technique, pointe, and jumps.
- Afternoon classes include 3 hours of lectures covering anatomy, biomechanics, energetics and functionality, as well as restorative practice.

Our primary teacher of this course is Scott Putman, an Associate Professor at VCU Dance and Choreography. He is the creator and master teacher of the Elemental Body Alignment System© (EBAS), a series of exercises designed for structural integrity and supported range of motion. Through anchoring and initiating movements via the pelvis, the body discovers its ability to efficiently articulate movement through experiential anatomy. This workshop, for the intermediate and advanced levels, is helpful as a stand alone or as a complement to the Adult Ballet Intensive.
